Islanders is a new body of work by Victoria-based artist Parham Peyvandi, inspired by the landscapes of Vancouver Island.

Islanders series develops through an ongoing and active process of interpreting place, bringing observation and memory into relation with personal experience and the cultural and environmental contexts of his encounters. These relationships inform the paintings’ visual language, while meaning continues to unfold through a shared process that extends beyond the artist’s own reading.
 

About the Artist
 

Parham Peyvandi is an Iranian-born visual artist based in Victoria, Canada. With a background in Urban Design and Painting, his practice explores the relationship between observation and memory and how they shape our experience of space and belonging. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at Untitled Art Miami Beach, Expo Chicago, and The Armory Show in New York.
